EZanesOldLogCabin-1909PM.jpg
Caption on postcard:
Ebenezer Zane's Old Log Cabin.
The first building erected in Wheeling built 1769, torn down 1908.
This is the cabin to which Elizabeth Zane made her heroic dash for powder during the siege of Ft. Henry by the British and Indians. Postmarked 1909.
CAW: This does not look at Zane's cabin, which was actually a secure blockhouse located at 22-23 Alley 7 (between 10th and 11th streets between Main and Market).
