This granite statute of Mary holding Jesus was erected in 1901 on Boggs Hill, a wooded area overlooking the former Mt Carmel Monastery. The hill was originally called Victory Heights, and was on the property of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity convent. These sisters also started a home for girls which evolved into a high school - both the convent and the school closed long ago. In 2010 the statue was restored and relocated to a courtyard of the Good Sheperd Nursing Home, still on the same property as in 1901, but in a more accessible location.
