State Fair Grounds
Apparently the WV State Fairgrounds were once on the south end of Wheeling Island, and at some point were replaced by the privately owned Wheeling Downs racetrack and gambling casino. Here are postcards (from Chuck Julian Collection) illustrating the old days.
