S Bridge, Triadelphia
An early (1807?) stone bridge crossing Wheeling Creek? just at the onset of Triadelphia, near the Bella Via Italian restaurant.
from WV Geologic Survey - Ohio Country volume (1906). Looks like Monument Place in background but isn't - MP does not have columns. What building is it?
I don't know when the bridge was removed but there is now a boring, modern steel bridge.
Named for the gentle S-shape as road approaches the bridge. On National Road (Highway 40).
