Wheeling Jamboree

The country's first country music radio program started in 1927, became a national sensation in the 30s thru the 70s, and still exists. The Jamboree has a good webpage describing their history, including a page depicting their various venues over nearly 90 years. Here is a list of the theaters, auditoriums and office buildings used for the show.

1927-1930: Fidelity Building - Original Studio
1930-1933: Hawley Building - Home of Studio A
1934 & 2009: The Victoria Theater
1933-1934: Capitol Theatre (Capitol Music Hall)
1935-1936, 1946-1962: Virginia Theater
1937-1945: Market Auditorium
1940's: Liberty Theater
1940's: State Theater
1940's: Colonial Theater
1962-1965: The Rex (called the Coronet in the 1970's)
1965-1969: Wheeling Island Exposition Hall
1969-2005: Capitol Theatre (Capitol Music Hall)
1977 & 2008: Brush Run Park - Original Site of Jamboree in the Hills
2010: Scottish Rite Theatre
2010: River City Artisan Center
2012-2015: Wheeling Island Hotel Casino & Resort

Sadly, six of these venues no longer exist, having been demolished in reoccurring periods of civic and commercial stupidity.
