This is the major street of traditional Wheeling. It is the first street east of the Ohio River (at least north of 10th St) and used to be the major street for commerce and much industry. The north end contains some of the finest Victorian period homes in Wheeling and the downtown area used to bustle with sidewalks full of fashionably dressed shoppers. And then came the mall.
The odd numbers are on the west side - river-facing.
